Formula One Fish Food
Ran out of frozen brine and picked up a package of this food for my fish, have also been spot feeding my xenia, yellow polyps and anemone with a turkey baster. I think it's a drastic improvement over the frozen brine. My fish seem to love it and it's like my xenia can smell it or something, if they happen to be closed when I feed they instantly open up and eat.
It's called Formula One. http://www.marinedepotlive.com/ocean...ozen-food.html Anyone else use this food and what are your opinions of it? |

![]() But I feed my marine fish a mishmash of a bunch of foods, that I mix myself... it includes (don't ask for a recipe, I don't use em, I jus' throw the stuff in n mix it til it looks like a really disgusting fishy paste): frozen raw cocktail shrimp, frozen fish filets (van de kamp's, lol, with the breading rinsed thoroughly off), small and large frozen brine shrimp, bit of phytoplankton, bit of zooplankton, cyclopeeze, prime reef flakes - green and purple package, bits of seaweed sheet..... and when I'm done mixing it, I put it in a ziplock, freeze it flat, and then just shave off bits to feed. 'Notherwords, I just threw in a bit of everything I have, and then chopped it to bits! They love it tho, all of my critters..... even the lawnmower blenny goes after this stuff.. actually swims up to grab chunks of it! The scooters too! ... Actually I think my corals like it too, lol, but it's a bit hard for me to tell, because with this bowfront tank, if I look too closely, my eyes get buggy!

I've been using Formula1 since the mid-late "80's. It can be used as a primary food source for most marine fish. The only one I have that won't eat it is my Copperband Butterflyfish. It may take a week or 2 for your fish to begin to eat it with gusto as it is very different from what they would find in the wild and flakes.
