Finally Setting Up Sump

hey everyone!

i am finally setting up my sump. although i have a few obstacles ahead of me, such as i cant fit the 10gal tank under the stand now since the sides are blocked off(i mite have to cut an opening so i can fit the tank in there). also i have to order an overflow and a pump off the internet. i have found a nice looking overflow that has a rate of 500GPH, and a mag drive 5 pump, i dunno if those 2 will work together? or will i need to keep looking? here are the links to them.

Reefer769,

The looks of the overflow can be very deceiving; meaning regardless of the looks, teh functionality is what is important. Your looking for a quite operating, continuous overflow that will handle more than the flow you are going to provide it. Anything that fits that description should work ok, but you'll never really know until you have it hooked up and simulate many power outages.

so is a 500GPH overflow, and a Mag drive 5 Pump a good match? the mag will be pushing the water up about 4 ft. so maybe the overflow is a little to much?

Nope those will work fine... You want the water to be ABLE to drain faster then it is pumped back in... Other wise you will have one heck of a time trying to get the proper balance.
