Are sponges a good thing...?

I have a colony of sponges growing about 1/2" a week!! Are these good things or do they end up poluting the water...? Thanks-

they are very good and a good sign!

Dont pull the rock they are attached to out of the water. When they are exposed to air, they're done!

cheers,

joe

I have a killer purple encrusting sponge growing on the under edge of a rock. I love it. There are pink button polyps right infront of it. It looks awesome. I will try to post a pic on this tread later for yeah.

I already pulled the rock with the sponge out of the water when I swapped tanks over a month ago, It's grown inches since!

Talking

I would be more concerned with then sucking all of the water from the tank.

Firefish,
Here is the pic of the sponge I was telling you about. It grows away form the light. It is hard to see since the polyps cover most of it. I think it is very pretty though.

I have always had to cut out the main part of the pic I want to post and drag it ever to the desktop. Then attach it. Know what I am saying?
