What does jawfish eat?

Hi guys, long time no post.

I recently got a jawfish as a B-day present and I am afraid that he is not getting enough food. I have 3 very established fish who rarely lets any food reach the bottom of the tank. I'm afraid the jawfish is going to starve. are there any resolutions to this? or am i worried too much? thanks

Jawfish eats meaty food floating near the entrance of his cave. Try Mysis shrimps. Increased current enough so that food swrilng around and moving. He will snap them up. Once he is used to his enviroment, he will venture up and take the food. Target feed is not good at this stage because with any movement, he will retreat into his cave.
You just need to overfeed with frozen meaty food for now, until he is comfortable in the tank.

IME, jawfish will not eat dry food, at least for the 1 year that I have them. they just spit the flakes out when they do bite. They will ot eat food off the floor. It got to be meaty, (frozen or live food) and got to float by them.
