My Live rock arrives today...

Finally...

After today I can say that I have a Saltwater Aquarium. It has been empty for so long I never thought this day would arrive.

I am receiving 115lbs of Uncured Kaelini Live rock from Premium Aquatics. It was sent via UPS, since I am only 5 hours from their store I was able to have it sent via UPS ground which saved me over $100.00 in shipping.

I'll post pictures after it arrives and I unbox it.

I like the Kaelini rock and hope that you will too! Pretty nice having PA close enough so ground shipping is overnight, it works the same for us.

Some Good News, Some Bad News...

Well it had to happen eventually. I have had orders shipped from UPS literally hundreds of time with no problems. However the first time I order something that is important an UPS screws up. I ordered 110Lbs of live rock. I received my UPS shipment today of 60lbs. Or as UPS says Box 1 of 2. Box 2 is in Pittsburg. Apparently somebody thought St. Louis was in Pennsylvania and rerouted the box there. So I have received 60lbs of some really cool looking rock, and will receive another 60lbs of really cool rock that has been cooking for 2 days. I can't wait to open that box.

I called Premium Aquatics and let them know that UPS lost a box. They said to call the back on Thursday if the rock is really bad and they would try to work something out with me. Since I didn't order it next day, I really didn't have any guarantees. Next time I'll drive the 10 hours myself.

Here are some pictures of what I did get. Some really cool large pieces, one piece was 15lbs by itself.

Meric,

If they can get the rock to you in the next day or 2, it might not be too bad, besides it's uncured anyway. What you could do is place the 2nd box of rocks under what you received today and after going through a 4-6 week cycle, you probably won't notice the difference. I wouldn't worry too much unless the box don't come.

I have done the same as you and banked on getting my PA ground shipment overnight knowing that I was chancing it, luckily I haven't had any problems to date.

Second Half arrived today...

I sure wish it had arrived first. This batch contained a ton of corals and life on it. However they were all pretty cooked when they arrived. I received even larger pieces than the first batch. One piece was 25lbs by itself. This stuff is great looking. Lots of cool shapes, colors and sizes.

Overall I'm very happy with the live rock I received. Not too happy with UPS, but I'll get over it.

Hope to post some more pics later.
