That is a very nice looking clam! Maybe one day we'll get back into keeping some clams in our system.

nice clam, I am thinking of getting some calms, but I read that Hermits and shrimp can be devastating to clams. I have a few in my tank, so should I stay away from clams?

i have many shrimp in my tank and 1 hermit, the shrimp do walk over the clams and at first the clams would close, but now the shrimp don't even phase the clams, so i would say that shrimp would be ok, as i only have 1 hermit i really can't say safely that all hermits would play nice with clams. the shrimp i have are: 2 scarlet ladies, 1 fire shrimp, mated pair of banded coral,1 pistol shrimp, 1 strawberry crab and 1 hermit crab.

Thats a nice tear drop maxima. I have one tear drop that looks somewhat like your's. Easily my favorite clam I have. Although the others are close seconds.
