New to reefland

Hey there, I'm new to this board, just signed up about 1/2 hour ago. Really like the the aquarium log!!!!! I posted some pics of my 300 in the gallery, hope you people like them. Just wanted to say hello, and I'm glad to be here. I was referred here by Kevinpo, he just happens to be my "local lfs".

Hi charlie, Welcome to Reefland!

It looks like you have some beautiful stags in your reef and it looks like a couple of them are pretty large! Are you using strictly 20k's on your tank?

Yeah, I'm running 6 400w radiums with vho actinic supplementation for dawn/dusk effect. I really like the color! I know alot of people think the tank is too blue, I don't think so.

We are running just 2-20k 250w DE bulbs on our 75 and like the color too! I don't think long term we'll be able to keep some of the vibrant pink and yellow colors on some available SPS; everything seems to go blue and green which is ok too.

Reefland,
I have had trouble keeping the yellows also. I got a yellow mille that has gone to a green with yellow tips. That's not all that bad tho, I can live with that

pats fan1130,
thanx for the welcome and the compliments. My tank and it's inhabitants appreciate it.

We picked up a yellow milli last weekend that needs some doctoring but we hope it will retain it's coloration as it comes back to health in our reef.

When I got my yellow mille, there wasn't any water in the bag at all. Fed Ex quit playing football with it when the box got wet. I put it in my fuge and it had it's polyps out within 15 minutes. I was blown away. And they say these corals are fragile.

Hey who let that guy in

Hi Charlie,
Welcome

Charlie has a light pink mille with blue tips that turned deep red under the 20,000K's. I like the color better than the original way it was under the 10,000K's.

Regards,
Kevin
