Yup, that green cap is a nice one!

Am I seeing the picture right though? Have you placed that clam and that acropora sp. "on" the cap?

Not only are the pictures awesome, but the corals are too!

Michelle and I have been looking at a new camera recently, when we get one I think we are going to get the Nikon 3500 or 4200, can't remember which one but I think it will allow us to take pictures like yours!

is your purple cap the large one on the right about mid way up in the tank?

Scott, the cap just grew around that clam and yes, I had put couple of frags of the slimer in the worls I have no other space and throwing good size frags out just felt wrong,I will take them to the store as soon as I have some time to go there.

It is actually on the left side of the tank looking straight in.

Thanks for the complements, Michelle.
Scott, if you going to go with the Nikon and don't want to spend money on DSLR then look for the Coolpix 5400 or 5700. CP-5700 is an SLR camera but 5400 is a very nice point and shoot type camera.
Here's a links to the info on them.

Gene,

I wish we had the dollars for one of those cameras! Actually we were looking at some very nice brand new 4200's for ~$200.00 with tripod, carrying case and card. I looked around and found some other people that had that camera and they had some awesome macros they had taken with it! That is what we want, to take a picture of a single polyp on our SPS.

Good luck, my friend! I'm not familiar with the 4200 model but I'll dig around and see what the specs are on them. The price sounds fantastic
I am looking to buy D-70 with the nice macro lens but more the likely will have to go to the City and play with it first.None of the local shops have them in stock, even as a "floor model"
BTW, do you have any links to the pictures taken with the 4200?

Gene,

Actually, it is a Nikon Coolpix 4300, not a 4200. I found some pictures on RC a couple of months back when we were looking at the camera but now I can't find none due to the attatchment function there.

OK, I get it now. Although, Nikon did release CP-4200 in February of this year but I have not read review(if it was done) or saw any pics from this cam,4300 is a very nice camera but I think it is not in a production anymore. I know what you mean about the attachments, tons was lost probably.

I've looked at these pictures for the last couple of minutes and cannot understand for the life of me why you would be pleased with them.

It makes me too envious that I can't get pictures that good. Michelle now, she can give you a run for your money.

Great! Did you get that coolpix 4300 yet? It is a very nice cam that you should be able to get awesome pics with. I just checked some prices for the 105mm macro lens and almost fainted... Looks like if I do get that D-70 cam I'll have to live with the kit lens for a while.

No we did not get it yet, I hope that we'll be able to in a couple of months though. It's always hard to buy a camera versus a couple of nice corals.
