Ok I'm freaked out
OK, I admit it, I rarely wear gloves anymore when cleaning the glass in my tank or even when making slight adjustments to the live rock. Is this wise? NO!!!
I'm not talking about the possibility of touching one of my bristle worms or accidently bumping into my Foxface Rabbitfish -- unlike my fairy wrasses, he avoids me when I put my hand in the tank. What I am talking about are the risks of nasty bacterial infections such as those described (nasty pictures and all) in these two separate events:

I used to wear gloves almost all the time, then I sort of got lax. I guess I'll start wearing them again.

Ok I'm freaked out
well that would make anybody think twice about putting hands and arms in tank. thanks for the posting. i wouldnt have thought something like that could happen with just a little cut on your finger and no contact. very scary
Just bought some long yellow cleaning gloves........................................

I didn't wear gloves last Wednesday and while I was treating the tank with liquid calcium I must have wiped some of the liquid just below my mouth on my chin by accident. I now have a few red spots where the liquid irritated my skin and of course it looks a little ugly but it's getting better.
So as a FYI - watch out for the chemicals also.
