mini cpr bak pak

hey!

wouldnt this be a great idea...?? a MINI CPR BAKPAK, for NANO reefs. i think we should find someone with the right skills, have them copy a cpr bak pak and make a mini one. one that would fit 2.5-10gal aquariums, i think this would be the greatest idea, i would try and make one myself but i would never be able to do such a project, i wouldnt even no where to start. i figured id come here and see if anyone is willing to make a prototype and maybe if this works out well we could even send this idea in to CPR and see what they think i doudt i am the first one to think of this idea, im just curious, has anyone else ever thought about this? or maybe a few of u even tried this? i have no idea, and it just crossed my mind so please lets here some feedback.

I guess none of us want to bend our brains around something that a huge corp. like cpr would just walk away with for a pittance if anything. If they thought there was a market for it..... which you might want to write and suggest it to them since nano's are the "In Thing" right now..... they would probably put something into production... don't count on it being cheap just cuz it's small tho.

What's sad is that the smaller one would most likely be more expensive.
I'm sure the company would develop something like that for a bigger profit even though it's "bigger brother" would be a better option.

then if thats junk, what would you suggest i buy for such a small tank??? its only a 5.5 its hard to spend so much money on something for such a small tank. i just wish there were GOOD skimmers available for such small tanks! but really if it were you what kind of filtration would you have on this 5.5??

Honestly, I don't think I could maintain the proper water params to keep such a small tank. If I remember correctly the guys warned you against buying such a setup. I'm pretty sure they warned you with the intent of saving you some "heartache". Also I'm not trying to be rude and I may be speaking out of line but the reason some of them arent answering you is due to you not taking their advice. Some of these guys here have dedicated their lives to this hobby and it breaks their hearts to have their warnings go unheeded. It might hurt you financially to be in this hobby but this is a very money oriented one. A financial burden is nothing compared to the burden put on these beautiful living breathing organisms when introduced into home aquaria that just isnt a proper environment.

Go to reefcentral (dotcom) and check out the 'easy as pie euro skimmer' thread, maybe you can design a small one yourself, and save yourself some money..... even if your small one isn't half as efficient as the big ones...... it has to be better than that visi-jet.

Truth is .. You get what you pay for. You could also check out rc for something used, or maybe ask someone over there what would be the best design for something small, they may have already figured it out..... I dunno, don't read there so much as here.

Yeah Sueet I'm with you, RC is nice but there are a lot very rude people over there and just too many people in general. Every once in a while I'll post a message for one of the good doctors but thats about it. There's no place like home.

im just gunna make a mini cpr bak pak myself, i will measure the big one and make everything half of the big ones size, so half of its height, width, length, the only problem would be the collection cup, but i guess i would just have to make a box with a pvc pipe going into the box from the bottom. i will post some pics whenever i finish.
