Taking sand from the beach?
My brother goes to the Cayman Is. with his very rich friend every summer for the past 4 years, and he's gotten his divers liencence and all that, and I was kind wondering if it would be ok to put sand that he would collect from the ocean? I haven't seen a bristle worm or copepod for a long time(probably because used to have an arrow crab, and I have cc sand which is not a ideal breeding ground for these guys) I'm looking for a boost in those areas of critters, I will by that time have my 4" sd sand in,
so any idea if its legal? will the critters survive in zip locks bag? should he have water in the bags? is it going to hurt my tank? |

i would not just becuase for the some reason that if you get real ocean water for your tank you must go a good 5 miles out the water areound the cost is usaly to paluted. just think some one realy that day could have spiled a drink and sun tan lotion i would not take the risk some one a the lfs did that and it kille his whole tank

[/color]well the place where he goes, is on a place called 7 mile beach, its only for the ppl that live in the condos, so I'm not really worried that its polluted, but I guess, is there anyway to maybe swirl the sand so I could catch the worms and or copepods and put them in the tank well the place where he goes, is on a place called 7 mile beach, its only for the ppl that live in the condos, so I'm not really worried that its polluted, but I guess, is there anyway to maybe swirl the sand so I could catch the worms and or copepods and put them in the tank
