Question Something very odd!

Just watching the LR again and noticed something poking in and out. It is behind a crevass so I can only describe the portion which I see. The tip is very pointy and is bright red. The red then turns to white and then to brown or black along its shaft. Since I can't see its entirety, I do get a glimpse, as it pokes out, of a thicker body. It is acting as if it is fishing. Anyone have ideas as to what this may be?

OK, I feel really stupid now....Was observing my blue legged hermits again and noticed their legs have pointy tips with red and white on them. I must have been watching a leg caught up in the LR waving around in the current.

LOL don't feel stupid, just be happy that you know for sure what it was that you saw. Somewhere along the line you will probably see other things that you may NEVER find out what they are/were.

Grab a maglite (the small pencil sized ones are best) and go sit by the tank a few hours after the lights are out. Use the maglite to shine a tight beam on a small spot in the tank at a time - you'll be amazed at what will be crawling/slithering/running/swimming around !

It's actually one of my favorite times to view the tank

Actually, that's how I came across the strange phenomenon in the first place! I have spent way too many hours doing this and hope some day soon I will be able to pull myself away! It is very cool though to see all the strange and wonderful things that come out at night. Last night I think I saw a spaghetti worm. It was sort of a clear white colour, it kept stretching out and plucking things off of the LR.
I assume it's a spag. worm!

One thing odd that happened in my tank. I noticed an animal crawling in my live rock. I have no idea what it was. I know this, it was white almost transparent and it had about 6 legs. 3 on each side. It was kinda weird because never did I see again. But it almost looked as a termite.
