You make it sound like ricordia are supposed to be cheap? Not in my area they aren't ... At least not the 'Yuma' variety... Have you checked out the coral selling forum at RC? Most of those people ship and I've seen some pretty sweet deals go thru there occasionally.

Go to Petland in Naperville. They have bunch of frags for $15 to $20. I just picked up some Acro and Montipora today. Very nice size.

If you want more variety, try Splash of Life in Elburn. IL. The frags are $20-$25. You can get some for $15 is negotiate with them.

I have some pulsing xenia, and a teal stag frag. I live in Island Lake, IL.

Have you tried Something Fishy in Fox Lake? All of his softies are $35.00 a piece.
Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day.
Teach a man to fish, he'll put it in his aquarium!

    Thanks, Dennis and Andrea

all of these places like elburn, naperville, foxlake, are kinda far. i have a petland close to where i live in alrington heights, so ill stop by there today. and i really want to get a variaty of corals for cheap, but if i buy off line i have to pay a 40$ shipping charge which is ridiculous.

I'm normaly up for fragging some stuff out of my system. Only problem is I think I'm quite far from you. About 30 miles South of Chicago.... Anyway, sorry to have to say this, but if you buy SPS from just about any of the mentioned shops, you will also be buying red bugs. But hey thats half the fun right? Pet Lands as I understand it are each kinda individualy owned, so the one in Naperville is unique in that they carry corals, it's the only one I have seen that does.

yea i just got back from the one in arlington heights and it sucks, they have nothing. but hey what kind of corals do you have? and thats not that far at all and as long as your frags dont cost much then i am fine with spending 30$ on shipping for a few cool frags.

    Well,
I'm strictly SPS. And to be honest, I couldn't begin to name off all the stuff I have in my tank. Since moving to the 350g system corals tend to all kinda mix togther in my mind. But if you ever find your way out here, maybe you can take a look and see if ya like anything. I got everything from Monti's to Soli's, Tort's, Tables, Some nice Red and Blue Mille's But like I said I lose track. Anyway GL to ya.

If you are keeping SPS corals you will want to do a search for red acro bug. They look like mites the size of a pin head, and it has bee my exp. that they have negative affects on coloration and growth. Every local shop that I have visited has had them on their SPS. By local I mean most of the state of IL. Dips in general wont kill them, the only method I had success with is intercepter, a heart worm pill for dogs. My tank has been red-bug free for most of this year and coloration and growth is back to where it should be.

The selling forums are wayyyyy down at the bottom underneath the sponsor forums in the blue section titled "More Forums"

Then, inside the selling forum listing is one for dry goods, one for live goods, one for want to buy listings, and one for feedback.

While you are of course correct, I don't really see the sense in pointing that out. The thread did go alittle off topic, and has been takin to PM in my case. Just wondering what your point was exactly? Did this offend you in some way? If so I appologize. As I'm sure each of us that took part in this out of place disscussion do. But being as it is obviously your place to let us know what belongs where thanks for informing me of the error of my ways. Can you tell I just quit smoking today? Sometimes people chatting away can go to different areas of conversation, it happens get over it.

Wow, yanno, I never noticed when I quit smoking that it affected my ability to read! Or maybe that was just YOU.

If you read MY post, I quoted, and was answering, Reefer769's QUESTION.

I said NOTHING to you, about you, or in any sort of relation to you. Take a deep breath and quit thinking about killing me cuz I didn't make YOU quit, that was your decision!

btw... Good luck, you'll be glad if you make it.
