Montipora Digita

I'm looking for a small but very nice and healthy purple or orange frag. Anyone have some they would be willing to part with?
Reefland you recommended this......the other day I got to my lfs and they had just sold a green frag that was the perfect size. Know of anyone?

Our green digita is growing pretty quick but not yet enough to take a frag. If your still looking in a couple of months we'll have one.

I just fraged some of my orange digi yesterday. It was losing color in my 55g. So I moved all of the new frags to the 180g. I also have a couple blastomussa frags.

Because they have lost there color, I will sell them for 5.00 - 10.00. I have five to choose from. I live in Island Lake, IL. Aren't you in IL? It would probably be cheaper to drive. Plus, I don't have to materials to ship. I would have to go out and purchase everything to ship them.

I'm in NC so doesn't sound like it's gonna happen. Is it possible to revive the color once they bleach?

Absolutely, as long as you have proper lighting and good water. I have 150w mh on my 55g. It did not like that lighting. I already moved over one piece a couple months ago and it is really orange now with green skin. I have 250w mh on my 180. I moved them into my 180 yesterday and the polyps are already getting color to them.

I have never shipped a frag before. Will it need an ice pack? I can find a box. I will have to ship it overnight. What is your zip code? I will check into shipping costs.

Styrofoam container in a tight fitting carboard box. Ice Packs or Heat Packs as necessary. Coral should be double or triple bagged and there should be lots of packing around the bags inside the styrofoam to ensure no shift during transit. Box should be stickered with Fragile or Live Fish on the outside with a "This Side Up" sticker. Shipped overnight, priority is best.

Great.

I got to looking reefland and the green seems to be the most vibrant of the colors. Is it the most hardy? The orange is said to always loose if they are put too close to each others so I'm just assuming that it's a little more weak. What is the recommended tank space for the digita?

Hi Samper,

Having own few of the Montipora digitata myself I can tell you that it is very tough coral and adjusts to the lighting very well. PC's or VHO can be just fine for this coral given time to acclimate.
Here's a few pictures of the green, orange and purple digitatas that I own. They are all kept under MH lighting and good waterflow but I am sure that they would do just as good under the VHO bulbs that I used to have 2 years ago.

You live reasonably close to me, a lot closer than some of these guys. When and if you decide to frag please let me know. A lot of stuff my lfs gets in comes straight from the ocean and I really don't like going that route. No rush or hurry but when you decide to please let me know and whatever you feel the troubles worth I'll help ya out.
