Is the being available to win part the problem, or the price? There are a number of sellers on ebay offering a 'Buy It Now' option on the chaeto.. Alot of them are local to me in fact, lol, must be easy to grow chaeto in MI. You could check with your lfs' too, but they usually would need to special order you some, since it goes very fast when they do carry it.

i used to work at my LFS... i taught them everything they know, and now i do not work there... lol

second..... just ebay sellers, charge too much for shipping.. granted they are just trying to make a buck.... but 35-45 plus box charges is just too much imo....

so i can buy it for 4 dollars...... no problem... then 8000 bucks to ship it

Nah, not really, this one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...320219796&rd=1
is only $6.50 for shipping, with a 10.99 BIN for a whole quart bag of it...
And I know the guy, he's pretty good, and the chaeto is pretty resilient too. Only thing I'd say is, if you don't like hermits, check it thoroughly before you add it to your tank, cuz I got like 7 of them in the last three bags I bought
(in addition to a couple little tiny microstars and some 'pods)

This one:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...320333606&rd=1
Is a $5. BIN but the shipping is $6 + $3 for additional, and it says only 5oz without the water... I do not know what size portion you would actually be getting, but it sounds like a decent deal.

I have some I could sell ya if you really want, lol, but the same is gonna apply, that you would have to pay the shipping.

This is a common issue since they started changing stuff around this past few months... I've had that 'pay now' area not update for over 24 hours before, but as long as you have your email showing that you paid, you're ok. The seller does recieve the payment, just doesn't update real fast sometimes.

Yeah I have several types of caulerpa in my fuges.. but if you're going to be putting any in your main display... be CAREFUL which type... some of em are just a pain in the kiester. Nothing special as far as care goes, chaeto doesn't go sexual (or asexual whichever term is the correct one) like some of the other caulerpas will (btw, I leave my fuge lights on all the time, and have never had any of them go funky.... Don't know if that's a key factor or not, just a little factoid that may come in handy)

The chaeto is ..... well, to put it bluntly..... Ugly. So I don't think you'd want it in your main display, but there are some other macro algaes that do look nice enough for a main..... It kind of all depends on what fishes you have too... I've bought some really pretty macroalgaes, only to wake up the next day and the whole clump be gone (tangs and crabs apparently have a sweet tooth for the pretty reds)
