Frogspawn

Since I've added my two maxi jet 1200s and new lights my frogspawn isnt too happy. He was sitting about 6 inches deep. He is about an inch below the powerheads right in between them. The gap in between is about 9 inches and water flow isn't very strong in that area at all. I haven't noticed it extend much at all lately and don't know if it's the light or the water flow. Where does the frogspawn typically like to be placed?

I have found them to be happiest on the sand in low to medium flow and a little shaded if using halides

I'll situate him a little different this evening. With my lighting I'm gonna try him in a low flow area about half way up. Thanks

I know you have recently added new lights and some additional flow to your tank; you might just want to give it some time to adjust. Moving corals up and down in the aquarium isn't always the answer, they might just need time to adjust to a new condition.

Would two weeks be enough time? If so he hasn't started to show himself more. I also forgot to mention it is a branching frogspawn if that makes any difference.

I agree with salt junkie. It sounds like to much water flow. More and likely not to mutch light, because I have mine under three metal halides and their dividing all over the place. I have actually found that the color intinsity 10x more , when you get them close to the light. But, not all corals can acclimate to high intinsity lighting. Some just like low light.

I think what happened is that the the colony was under too little light for too long and by the time I upgraded he had no way of thriving. The last head died about a month ago. Lesson learned . Since then I have purchased a small torch that is doing wonderful.
