I was wondering if it would be ok to put my mushrooms and green tree coral (im not sure if thats really what its called) together with LPS corals in a small tank?- im not quite clear on the mixing rules.
Thanks

Mixing corals from different areas and environments is commonly accomplished. The only thing you really need to watch for is the space given between each coral for growth and to prevent chemical competition. As long as they have room to expand and grow without making physical contact, your typically ok. There are some corals that can sense competition of surrounding corals and react accordingly to protect their space but again, if given plenty of room you should be fine.
I thought I read somewhere that the soft corals might let of toxic something or other that can damage other corals- is that not the case?Originally Posted by Reefland

Yeah there is a possibility with some of the soft corals but typically it's not a problem. Either Sarcophytons or Sinularias don't get along with SPS corals but adding a soft coral with some mushrooms will cause no problem.![]()
Am I going to have issues with my sinularia and my M digitata? Also where did you get your german digitata? That species is what I was looking for but couldn't find one in my area.
