    clownfish/feeding tank

    hey everyone,

i was just a little worried about one of my clownfish. i have a pair, and one is much larger then the other one(i bought them the same size). i know that this is nartural and this is sopposed to be a sex change, but the smaller clownfish(the male) literally lays in the rocks and doesnt look to good either, and whenever i feed the tank it seems to be afraid to eat. will this get better or is this a sex change gone bad?

also i was wondering if you guys think half a frozen cube of prime reef is good to feed my 30gal cube with 10gal sump that has 4 fish per day? or am i feeding to little or to much?

I don't think that's way too much but it might be better to spread your feedings out maybe a fourth cube in morning and a fourth at night.

Does the clownfish eat at all? Does he appear to have any wounds or parasites?

he eats, but very little, it just seems that he is literally scared to eat, like the bigger clownfish scared him into eating. his fins are a little town, and does not have any parasites, also one of his eyes seems a little red... not sure though.

I would just continue to monitor the fish as long as it is eating.

Is a fish laying in the rocks normal? I wouldn't think so, no but it kind of sounds like the smaller of the 2 clowns is just being submissive towards the larger which is ok.

Don't know what is 'too little' or 'too much' but I feed my clowns quite a bit more than that daily (3 or 4 times a day)... Between the two, my clowns would probably eat a whole cube per day, maybe even plus some, so maybe your little guy isn't getting enough? I hand feed my fish (meaning I hold the food in my hand, and they come take it from me) so it doesn't get wasted as much. It may well be that I'm just a sucker, and my clowns take advantage of that fact too, lol
