Flame Hawk Immune?
I've noticed much more lately since I added some corals a few weeks ago that my flame hawk doesn't seem to get stung or be bothered by anything. He can touch the anemone, he sits on my torch, brain, candy, ricordia, swims through the singulara. I was under the impression that fish didn't normally touch corals due to the sting and that only certain species can accomplish an immunity to them. Is the flame hawk one of these fish?

Corals are not the issue, but I would think that the sting from an Anemone would steer a Flame Hawk from it. Flame Hawks and lots of other fish use corals as perches, and even protection from larger prey. Small fish will often use the tight, branching growth form of Acropora sp. as a safe haven from larger fish that cannot fit through the branches.

Your right he doesn't stay in the anemone long, but when I feed sometimes he goes crazy and ends up in there for a second or two. Thanks once again.
