Lets Play the NAME GAME...

I know the names of 2 of the 4... upper left and lower left... Lets see if I am correct! I have no clue about the 2 on the right though!

I think this turned out pretty cool, I invite everyone to post pictures here of their "mystery SPS" and lets see if we can get ID's for them!?

ID an SPS coral? That'll be the day!

Lower left appears to be a Montipora sp. and the lower right perhaps a Stylophora sp. or Pocillopra sp.?

Mike,

You've got a bit closer pics of the two on the right? I agree with Scott on the bottom one, could be either Pocillopora or the Stylophora, now, the upper right looks like the monti but I need a closer look. And I'm not saying that I can id it either... Just like to have a closer look is all
I too have one that I gave up on any remote possibilities to id. Acropora sp. it is. I've never seen polyps this large on any of the acros that I have.

Sure thing Gene, these are 100% crops from my 10D. Sorry they are still pretty big files...

Once again for those of you on dial-up, I'm sorry they are so large!

Oops sorry Samper I forgot to answer your question... I have both for about a year now and they have each doubled (at least) in size since I got them.

I'm gonna throw my hat in this ring and say M digitata on the top right and Stylophora pistillata. In other words, I agree with Sue.

Hi staugsps, Welcome to Reefland!

I'm not sure about it serving as a shell for a hermit unless it has encrusted over the shell, but perhaps your talking about a Yellow Porites porites?

1 maybe millepora, but possibly abrolhensis
2 M. digitata
3 Not capricornis, but foliosa (ridges are too deep for a cap)
4 not a pocillopora, but probably a stylopora
