Hi Mike,
I haven't made much progress on it as business has been very slow. We all know how much this hobby costs

Regards,
Kevin

Ya we sure do!

As a matter of fact my friend is closing his shop after 18 years in business. He has had days where he only brought in $40!!! OUCH. The recent hurricanes in FL really put a hurt on his salt water fish stock so he had very little to sell!

Nope... Larry is stuck in the stone age, no computer even! Thanks for the offer though Brian, I am sure Larry would appreciate it.

Hey Mike, that is a wonderful looking nano! A real inspiration to those into smaller reef tanks!

Thanks for the kind words. Its been lots of fun. One day I dream of owning a HUGE tank, but for now I have my nano. I think I will always keep a nano though. With the small tank you can really watch the little events happening that might get lost in a big tank.

Very nice tanks everyone!

Here is a pic of mine, this pic is about two months old. I haven't had any time to take a current pic so this will have to do.

Just got home and took a current picture of my tank. It's not that great but I believe it shows some growth.

Hi LowCel, Welcome to Reefland!

Your tank looks great and yes, you can definitely see some growth and coloration improvements! Care to share some details about your system?

Thank ya!

Tank - 90 gallon AGA reef ready tank
Stand - DIY wood stand, directions from www.garf.org
Lights - Sunlight Supply Maristar - 2x250 hqi MH's and 2x54 t5 actinic
Sump/Refugium - DIY 29 gallon AGA
Pump - ViaAqua 4900 (about 600 gph after accounting for head pressure)
Skimmer - EuroReef 5-3
Water Circulation - Tunze stream
Two 7" desk fans hooked to temp controller
Heater - 300 Watt and 150 Watt Visitherms
Temperature Controller - Ranco digital dual stage
Auto Top off system - Tunze Osmolator
Geo calcium reactor
Reeftech Nielsen reactor on order (received broken tonight, these things happen I guess)

Currently the tank has ~30ish~ sps frags, one sps colony. It also has three softies still that I haven't managed to get rid of. I also have four or five different types of zoo's. I also have three types of star polyps, green ricordea, button polyps that I cannot get rid of and one maxima clam.

As far as fish go I have a royal gramma, a ring eyed hawkfish, a dual banded rabbitfish, an annoying harrassing clarkii clown that I cannot get rid of and a lawnmower blenny. I also have a ton of snails and hermits, I also have a cucumber to help with cleaning detail.

This tank has been up and running for around ten months. Before this it was a 55 gallon tank for about two months and before that it was a 29 gallon for about seven months.

Here is the refugium a couple of months ago, right after removing a bunch of macro.

Here is the picture of the complete setup. The stand door is removed for the picture and the stand housing the top off reservoir, ballast, and CA reactor is just temporary.

If you want to see more about the progress of the tank check out http://www.freewebs.com/lowcel/index.htm.

I started my first saltwater tank about 1 1/2 years ago (4/6/03), it was a 29 gallon tank. I had no idea what I was doing. All I knew was that my lfs told me I could convert my tank over to salt for about $60. I convinced my wife how cheap it would be then I went and bought my salt and sand. I had more problems than I could even begin to describe. I couldn't tell you how many times I wanted to just quit and go back to freshwater. Then one day, not sure how or when it was but things just seemed to start getting better/easier. I got my first coral in December. I believe that was when I truely became hooked. Ever since then I have been unable to control myself when it comes to the tank. My favorite thing about this hobby is that I learn something new each and every day. I have also learned that there is only one rule to this hobby, everything else is just opinion. The rule is that patience is a must, if you can't be patient then you need to find another hobby.

Anyway, here is a nice link to show how my tank has progressed. http://www.freewebs.com/lowcel/progressionofmytank.htm

Indeed! As they say, nothing fast happens in the reef tank except disaster. I can certainly attest to that myself.

Congratulations on a beautiful tank and setup. Does that ES-5 work good for you? For my 75 I've been debating about the 8-2 just to make sure I can skim the maximum amount out and have room to upgrade. How does that 5 perform in yours?

Thank you!

The ES 5-3 works perfect. I have absolutely no need for a bigger skimmer on this tank. I am running a total water volume of ~110~ gallons and I have no complaints. My water is always crystal clear.
