WOW Penguin, that looks great. Your rocks are beautiful too, looks like a coraline factory. Keep up the great work!

BTW....what size tank and what are the specs?

Thanks for the compliment! It's a 75g Oceanic, PFO 440w VHO (2 actinic 2 50/50), Urchin Pro skimmer, and hang-on 'fuge. The rock is about half Gulf View and half Pacific rock. The Gulf View came fully encrusted with coralline and the Pacific stuff has colored up nicely as well. As you can see only 2 corals at this point. Must...get...more...corals.

Even with two corals the tank looks great. The corals will come eventually. It took me eight months to get my first coral, ten months later I have over 40 corals, still not sure how that happened. The great part is that I actually paid for the majority of my corals with Xenia. If you find a good lfs that will give you credit for frags you've got it made. It's pretty bad, I currently have $200 credit at my lfs.

Well, I resisted posting pic of my 75g tank becouse everytime I look at it with all the fish in it I get a pain in a pit of my stomac. I had returned from vacation last Sunday to find all of them dead Some corals too but overall the tank looks the same minus the fish but, I figured I should post the pic of it nonetheless, here it is.

Zhenya, that tank is amazing! How long has it been running? Also, are most of your corals from frags? Just out of curiosity, how long did it take your caps to get their current sizes?

Thank you! Yes, most if not all corals were grown from frags. Tank were set up roughly three years ago, a bit longer maybe.I'm real lousy with keeping records
Anyway, about the caps, they grew in about a year or so. This picture was uploaded into the gallery in August of this year and they are even bigger today.
Real pain in the petunias when they start growing as they tend to shade everything.Have to be really carefull as far as placement goes, I did not choose the most optimal place as you can very well see in the picture.

Here's a pic looking straight in and as you can see the lower part of the tank is pretty much in the dark

I had another cap that I send to a friend that was about a foot accross, here's a pic of it.

Heres my tank, picked up a foxface about a week ago, already attackin some of the hair algae. grabbed two preskimmers for my bak-paks since they now make ones that fit maxijets. The tank is very peaceful, and everyone gets along great. gotta do a waterchange and some random cleaning this sunday, looks kind of nasty right now.

only about 2", was planning on removing the rock, a half inch of the sand bed, then adding about 60 more lbs of sand, the old half inch of sand, and then rescaping the rocks. its gonna take a whole day, so when i have the time and money and motivation, it will get done.

Okay... this is the AFTER shot... I worked on the tank for a total of SIXTEEN HOURS the last few days!

I took most of the rocks out and brushed them off with a bristle type scrubber, I used old tank water to did them and rinse. I even HYPERSALINITY dipped rocks that I thought held a Mantis or crab... NO LUCK there! Anyway, I think it looks much much better now!
