Plants for my refuge?

My refuge is up and running smooth and now im starting to look at what kinds of plant/algae life to populate it with. Halimeda Algae,Feather Caulerpa,Caulerpa Racemosa, Red grape Racemosa,Micro algae, mangrove.

Any of these good, bad or indifferent?

Plants are cheep so a little goes a long way. What do you all think is the best or the worst?

Chaetomorpha (Spaghetti) Algae and Grape Caulerpa Algae (Caulerpa Racemosa) have worked the best for me. Hard to kill grows very fast keeping nutrients down. HTH

Ive been reading up on so many things to put in my refuge. its almost as bad as my main tank as far as what to do with it.
So many ways to go. How about lighting? Low light for my refuge is what you want right?

Actually, a lot of people use a power compact daylight lamp for their refugium, the extra light intensity is beneficial to the macro algaes typically grown in a 'fuge. However a normal output daylight spectrum bulb will work just as well.

Some important notes about growing macro algae for nutrient export. Consider running the lamp(s) on a reverse cycle from your display (to help offset pH swings due to decreased photosythesis occuring at night) or perhaps even 24/7 as some people feel this may reduce the chance of the algae bed crashing on you (dieing and releasing more nutrients that you can deal with). Also ensure you are pruning the macro algae frequently to export the nutrients from your system.
