New Life......
Today I was watching my LR to see what's new and I found something. I'm sure there are more but for now I have only found two. I've been wanting a starfish for a while but these I'm not sure if they are good or not. They are very small, pencil eraser size and very slow moving. The underside is white and the top is a light brown with a few darker spots but they are so small that it's hard for my eyes to make out any pattern or detail other than that. I'd need a macro lens to get a picture. They have 4 fat arms for their size and were out when the lights were all on. Tonight I turned the moonlight on and they didn't like it much so they retreated......very slowly I might add to a shaded area. Where can I go to research these tiny hitchhikers?

I can't remember their name, but I remember that they are not all that good! My friend Matt removed HUNDREDS from his 150!

This is slowly becoming like the book sphere........one infestation after another. Algaes, Anemones, now starfish next it'll be glowing jelly fish then a giant squid.

perhaps we can point you in the right derection for research if we can at least get a tentative id on it. I was going to say that perhaps you have some stars from the Asterina family but most of those have more then four rays.

I kept an eye out for them all day today and so far tonight I have seen nothing.
As soon as I see another and am able to get to it I'll see if I can get a pic but I'm fairly certain I would need a macro lens to get any sort of detail and I don't know anyone with one. I also don't want to hurt the little guys even if they aren't good for my reef so if you know of a good way to get one off a piece of LR without any damage to him I'll take your advice.
