I have this little green bubble that is growing on this rock. It is the size of a pea. Is this a problem to have in a tank? I also sent some pictures of the rest of the fish. Hard to get them to stay still for the photo![]()

That little green bubble is most likely called Valonia sp. or Bubble algae. It can be come a nuisance in home aquaria but I have some in my tank and don't mind it at all......keep in mind I said some. If it spreads like mad I may have to invest in a few emerald green crabs to take care of em.

It appears to be Valonia.Originally Posted by underseaworld

It is a nuisance alga that will eventually overtake a lot of the available space in your tank if you let it. I suggest that you manually remove it immediately before it gets larger. Gently rock it back and forth to loosen the four tiny holdfasts at the bottom that secure it to the live rock and carefully lift it off the rock. You want to avoid popping it and releasing the fluid inside because the fluid contains spores.

I would also remove it ASAP, I have been doing CONSTANT battle with that stuff. I grows SO FAST and spreads like wild fire! If you see ONE, I'll bet you can FIND at least 10 if you really look!
Thanks for the advice. I will see if I can move out of that space. It looks like it is wedged in there pretty good.
