what hapens to the dsb when the power goes out for more then a few hours?? some one told my that it can reeles toxic gass into the tank is the just a bunch of BS

Total BS

Just because the power goes out, there is no reason for the release of anything, let alone H2S or Hydrogen Sulfide, which is what they are talking about. It is very rare that H2S accumulates and if it does get released, there is not enough to do any harm.

That was the old school thought of what would happen using a gravel substrate and UG filters/ with powerheads or air lift.

The big advantage of the DSB is that it would not be affected in anyway (unless the tank got too warm or too cold) when the power goes out.
