Macroalgae photos
Anthony Calfo's article on refugiums and macroalgaes, in which he comments on the premature introduction of herbivores to our tanks, inspired me to take some pictures of the interesting algaes that have not yet been mowed down in my tank. The tank has been running for over six months, but saw its first herbivore, a hippo tang, this week.
The first picture does not do justice to this macro, which almost glows under the actinics. And another. And finally. There are also some caulerpas that I wish would be eaten, but I won't encourage them by taking their photographs. ![]() |

Your first looks very much like the Padina that Anthony has introduced us to in his first article for RHO. The pictures you have are some very beautful macroalgae's; most commonly seen are not very desirable in the display.
