anyone?? please, i have them floating in the sump right now, and im about to acclimate them just as if they were fish, by floating then adding little amounts of water for a long period of time until the water is the same as the tank water and then just placing them at the bottom of my tank. i just need to know if thisis the right approach and if i need to know anymore.

Hello,
I place them in a bucket and add water from the tank at the rate of 1cup every 15 min. after 2 hours I place the coral in a low light area in medium flow. I do this every week with all types of corals (soft, SPS, LPS) and it works very well.

HTH,
Kevin

alright well i did that pretty much, but the only thing i did different was use 1/2 cup instead of a whole cup for a while until the water volume doubled. the corals are now on the bottom of the tank and look fine.

i want to buy another batch of 3 corals, but i wont be home to acclimate them during the week, so would my mom be able to just take them out of the box and float them in the sump until i get home? they came last time around 9 oclock in the morning, and i dont get home until around 3. could they last that long?

Hey Reefer,

They could definitely last that long but it would be much better to get them in the tank right away. Corals encounter enough stress from shipping in the bags so the sooner you can get the out the better.
