And I came across this site.
Damn weed smokers....gotta luv emmm...

www.insidesun.com

Hows this setup seem?

with a 10k bulb upgrade a 250 watt kit is basically 150 bucks? does that seem like a decent deal?

It doesn't say what type of bulb and ballast it is, in the product details. There are some pretty junky products out there. Ushio, AB, XM, Coralvue, are proven bulbs. I would use a HQI type ballast to drive them for best results. The diffrerence between set-ups can vary in output as much as 40%.

Kevin

yea this looks like the best option...however if they arent reliable check out www.hellolights.com and go to their custom mh/vho/pc combo fixtures, they like $500 but reaaly nice and come with everything u need, you just have to put it in the canopy

edit : theres a guy on www.reefcentral.com who bought from them and doesnt notice a difference between theirs and the expensive stuff...good news!

I don't think that plant growing bulbs are the same thing as what is needed in the reef hobby. I'm pretty positive I've read that somewhere and will search for the thread.
