    Hi lwkimbley, Welcome to Reefland!

First of all, you should not be randomly touching the coral; this can lead to un-necessary stress.

Does the toadstool coral look healthy otherwise?

Red face I had to touch it!

Somehow a LR fell against the back glass. I touched it (The toadstool) when I moved the rock. That is when I noticed the chalky appearence. Is this normal? Do leathers shead or something?

    Red face

The tentacles still come out and the color is the same.

I would let it be then. Touching corals frequently is stress inducing all in it's own, the less we have to touch them or move them, the better chance at survival they have. If thge coral is responding as a healthy coral, it is fine; at least for now.

Softies have a habit of going into hibernation fo days at a time and suddenly just bloom back up looking spectacular. My toadstool at times will shrink and stay closed up for days then shed its skin and have awesome polyp exstension and look great for about two weks then go back into another cycle. almost all my softies behave this way. After a while i have learned not to fret when they stay closed for a while especailly if all my water paramaters are within normal limits.
One can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those that can do nothing for them or to them.
