Need Help....fish issues
Ok. Let's see if I can explain this in as little words as possible.
I moved my fish from my 12g nano to my 90g. I visited my LFS and saw a pretty yellow Herald's Angelfish. Seeing that I now had an up and running tank with nothing in it, I bought the fish (so someone else wouldn't get him) and decided I would place the Angel in my Nano to hold for a week until I moved my Hippo Tang from the Qtank to my main display. He was doing fine the first day and a half and even ate the New Life Spectrum pellets I gave him. Wednesday after work I came home to find him hiding in the little cave of my LR and he would twitch every few seconds....almost like he was terrified of something. When I placed food in the tank he didn't even bother to come out to eat, just sat there twitching. I looked closer at him and it appeared that his skin was beginning to flake. I figured something was really wrong so I proceeded to remove the rock he was hiding under and take a look. Well, when I did that he went absolutely crazy and started stirring up the sand and zipping around the tank in circles, and made a straight shot up as if to jump out the tank, hit the lid and just fell lifeless to the bottom, belly up! Well, at this point I'm frightened cause I had no idea what was going on. I had some make up water sitting so I figured I'd net him and quickly move him there thinking something is wrong with the water in the Nano. I tested it and everything seemed fine. No ammonia or nitrite, <30ppm nitrate. During the move I noticed a dark blemish near the back of his eyes that wasn't there when I got him. When I first put him in the make-up water he was practically lifeless and moving only one fin as if the rest of him was paralized. After leaving him there for a few hours he seemed to recover ok. The dark spots seemed to lighten and he's now swimming around in the BRUTE. However, every now and then he seems to just go limp and float around on his side, then start swimming again. I assume he's eating b/c the food is gone later, but he doesn't eat instantly. Anyone know what could be the problem with this little guy?? He was swimming fine at the LFS and I watched him for 1/2 hour before I bought him just to make sure he was in good health. HELP!

I have a yellow tang which will really freak out and start acting strange if he sees his reflection in the glass. Since Angel fish are mostly solitary and he was in a small space, I wonder if he was stressed out over his reflection. The dark spots could be from hitting the lid so hard? I would be most worried over the not eating instantly thing. I had a clown fish starve to death that way. I thought he must be eating and I just wasn't seeing it. I'm just a novice, but it sounds like he just got stressed over something. Maybe someone here who keeps these particular fish will respond soon. Good Luck with your new setup!
