What do you think about Chemi-Pure?

I started running it on my 55 reef and it seems to be making the water much clearer? Do any of you have exp with the stuff. Will it take too much out? Can I really leave the thing on the tank for 6 months??

Isn't it just expensive activated carbon? Or is it something else?

There are resins in the bag also. I have purchased chemipure, and after examining the bag, about 1/2 the bag is carbon, but the other half of the bag contains resins. I do not know what kind of resins the could be similar to the types of resins found in DeIonizing units. Or maybe some propritary resins. Supposedly they are Ammonia and mitrate scavaging resins, why only ammonia and nitrate, and not nitrite I do not know. I've only been using it about 1 week. I'll let you know if my Nitrates drop any.

Thanks Guys. Maric, let me know how it goes. My tank seems to be really clear. All of the corals look good with the exception of one mushroom and I have no idea whats going on there. The other scrooms on the same rock look fine. But if it perks up I'll let ya'll know.
Keep the Faith,
Augustus
