Dreaming of a white substrate

The more I eye my tank and the more I read about sandbeds I think I want to have one. This will be a trial run to see if I want one in the 75g. The only problem is that I don't want to tear down my system to do it. The other problem is that my starfish has taken a liking to the rock framework made of pvc. I think I'd almost have to tear it down to make sure I don't trap it. I read a thread somewhere and a guy used panty hose to add sand to an already established tank. He tied a knot in the hose and filled them through the other end until it couldn't hold any more then held both ends put his arms in the tank, let the untied end go and dumped his sand where he wanted it. Can any of you think of another way to go about this?

I may not even do it but am thinking aweful hard.

Well I have a CC bed in my 55 and have been thinking about doing the same thing. The only way that has come to my mind is a long piece of pvc and a funnel. pour it into the funnel and move the end of the pvc tube where you want the sand to go.

Large ziploc bag. Fill with sand and seal it, lower to the tank bottom, then slowly release the sand. Minimal clouding with this method.
