Live/Base Rock - How Much?

I'm working on building my first Reef tank. I'm doing this step by step and have time because it is going to be start as brackish and work it's way to marine.

When starting it though I want to start with Base Rock for my Puffers and then add Live Rock after I get it up to Marine.

What I am trying to find out is the total amount of Base/Live rock I need and how much base rock I could start with. Any info appreciated.

If you want to save money you can do almost all your rock work in base rock and buy a few nice pieces of LR to seed the rest over the years. I'll do half and half in my 75 just for the fact that you will never see most of it.
