lps sps im confused so this could be the wrong forum . soz
![]() i have recently brought a finger type coral small thing. not sure of name, it usually stands tall and proud but ocaisionally goes flacid and shrivelled. usually at night but occasionally in the day. once (when small) it seemed to have a glaze type thing over it (shiny) which lasted for over a day. then it stood tall again and the glaze seemed to shed off slowly. is this norm or is something wrong? sorry this sounds strange its the best descrip i could give. |

Well your in the right forum because it sounds like you have some sort of soft coral, maybe a toadstool. These corals sometimes goe through rejuvenating periods where they get a glossy coat, seem to not expand and then shed that coat and start to do well again.

My sinularia goes limp and shrinks when the lights are off but after an hour of them being on it's out in full.
