Hopefully I will be able to keep this guy alive, Aragorn thought it was alveopora from my description and I agree once I saw some pictures. Looks like there is some recession of tissue on the branch, but the heads are nice and full.

put it in the sand, I heard from Ninong that they like dirty water.z
very nice,enjoy!
Certainly is an alveapora. Alveaporas have 12 tentacles where Goniaporas have 24. There you have it and best of luck to you in keeping it.

Yep. Definitely Alveopora. Nice speciman!

Thanks all. I'll keep you posted as to how it does! Looks like I will have to figure out a way to get it down to the sandbed.
Hey Brian,
Looking good buddy, did you go to Jeff's and not tell me?![]()
Actually got it at Jim's exotic in El Segundo. He usually doesn't have too much but yesterday I stumbled upon this. Having never seen one before I figured I had to give it a try. Semms like not too many people have tried these. Must be somewhat hard to get or something.
Let me know next time you go to Jeff's. It's always nice to look.![]()
Yeppers its a Alveopora. Keep it out of intense light or on the bottom of the tank. They also don't need alot of waterflow. I am gonna post a pic of my Goniopora that I just got 3 days ago.
