Exclamation Moving issue..... HELP!!!

Ok here's the situation:

I have a 30G (40 lbs LR w/ fish - 25 months old) tank running at my condo. I'm currently building a new home and I just got a buyer for my condo. The problem is he wants to close and move in before my new home is finished. My wife and I were hoping to close on the condo after the house was finished so I could hire a SW mover to move my tank on day 1. Now I'm going to have to leave my condo before the house is ready and I just can't leave the tank behind or move it twice in 3 weeks. These are my pets and I'm not sure what to do....

Any advice? My wife suggested I ask the new owner to look after the tank - yeah right. No one but myself deals with the tank and I would have to give the new owner a crash course...... No way.

Thanks in advance - I'm sure someone here has gone through this.

Do you have good repoir with a LFS near you? Maybe you could "lease" a tank there for the month... It is still being moved twice, but at least you know the people there won't screw it up... Well lets hope anyway.

I think if you take your time and and take some basic precautions, it won't be a problem moving the tank a couple of times in a short period. Things like having plenty of new ASW made up, making sure you have appropriate containers to move things in, etc. Personally, I would rather go through the pain and hard work of moving it a couple of times than having someone else look after it.

Well, I made sure in the real estate contract that I have 3 days after closing to move the tank. This will save me from having to move it twice..... Man for a minute there I was starting to lose it. Putting 25 months in to my tank and watching all go down the drain was giving me the freaks. Thankfully the buyer is a diver and was totally cool about it. I'm thinking of hiring a company called Bio-Reef to move the tank to the new location - they charge $200.00 to move my 30G and only need a few days notice.

Thanks for ther responses!!!!!

I think I'm going to have to move my nano in March and it's stressing me to no end........this is why I haven't been more on the ball with putting my 75 together. I know when that last piece comes in it's on..

Not sure, I was just shopping around since I was in a panic that I would have to leave the tank behind for the new owner of my condo to enjoy...... I'm going to call Bio-Reef, Inc. back next week to get the info on the moving service. I'll post what I find out from them and figure it out from there.

At least my nightmare's are over.....
