Gonioporas are sand bed corals. I have mine directly on the sand bed. It would be good if you put yours on the bed. Is that a branching goniopora or a regular goniopora? I have a branching that is light brown in color and a green metallic goniopora. The branching goniopora I have placed in between rock in a little crevice so it wont get knocked down. In my opinion, they need moderate to high current coming from different directions, not just one and making it sway only one way.

Please note that in their native habitat that these corals are "typically" lagoon dwellers. Therefore, sandy bottoms, turbid water, and moderate current. As a result of turbid waters, many are "acclimated" to moderate light. FWIW

Well, from my book "Aquarium Corals" by Eric Borneman, it appears to be Goniopora djiboutiensis.

    Scuba,

All I came up with was this site from reefs.org

    http://www.reefs.org/ubb/Forum1/HTML/015356.html

However, the link doesn't work. I'm assuming they don't archive old messages?? If anyone knows how to get this to show, up please do so.

This was the only link I had.

    Ilham
