    Limewater, is my method correct

Ok I need to know a few things about the way I mix and the amount of limewater I use.

I got tired of siphoning into my drip system every night so I put about 4 tablespoons of wages in a five gallon bucket, filled the bucket, let it settle out for a half day or so then dunk my 2 litre bottle in until it's full. I then set it up to drip. How long can I keep using this water until I need to change it out totally? I'm on 2 weeks of use now and the wages is still settling to the bottom.

I went from dripping 2 litres a day to 4 after purchasing my halide. My Calcium is staying around 440-450ppm but I haven't tested Alk in a while since my test kit ran out. Is it possible that I could be dripping too much? All my corals look happy so I'm not worried but I don't want it to creep up on me and one day have serious problems.
I plan to get another kit possibly tomorrow but I wanted to check with you guys and hear your thoughts.

Sounds good to me. It is the stuff on the bottom that we are not supposed to add to the tank. However I have heard that adding a little may help precipitate PO4, not sure that I would want to try it though. Also another thing to consider is that mixed limewater does REACT with CO2 in the air, so it is important that you keep the 5 gallon container closed tight. I would think you would be okay for a 7-10 period, so mix up enough to last that long, then clean the container. I use straight vinegar, then rinse and rinse and rinse some more!

I was aware of it reacting with C02 so I've been keeping it sealed tight. Just afraid I was using it too long, 2 weeks and was still getting fallout. I just didn't know how long I could continue to mix that stuff up. Sounds like either way I need to rinse the bucket out atleast once every two weeks so I'll clean it soon.

I'm not sure what you mean by "fallout?"
