I'll work on a better shot soon but figured I'll post and ask Kevin what he thinks about the ID.![]()

WOW! That is a great PIECE!!! Love the top down, did you get your new camera box already?
Hi Gene,
Oh what a beautiful piece! A. rosaria is very similar but I believe you have the correct ID based on the lack of radial corallites on one side of the tubular axial corallites. Although A. loripes often does not have this feature, when it does (as your does) it is one of the best ways to identify this coral.
The color of A. loripes can change very easily and it adapts to a wide range of lighting intensity but always does better in high flow (IME).
Congrats on a prized piece!

Thank you,Kevin, for your help with ID. I knew that I can count on you.Originally Posted by kevinpo
I really like this piece and hope it will do good for me in terms of color. I have it in direct path( at the very end of it) from my return and it is slightly off the center from my halide. I hope it keeps it's intence pink color...
Thanks, Mike!Originally Posted by Poseidon
And NO, I didn't get the box yet. I'm hoping that it's not walking all by itself all the way from Texas
I used my old Nikon for the top down shot since my Rebel does not fit under the canopy without making lens drink some of the salt water.
Kind regards,
Gene.
