Calcium Levels

Hey eveyone. I just had a quick question regarding calcium levels in my tank. I borrowed a brand new test kit for saltwater from a friend. Something by the name of quick test. I tried it several times just for kicks on my tank and got readings off the chart. I figure somewhere around 600 ppm, well above 400-440. I haven't been adding any calcium for the last few months. Is it possible the kit is wrong, or could my calcium be that high? Every time I tried the test I got the same reading. Input would be great. Thanks!

It could definitely be the kit.... alot of kits out there aren't accurate at all or are hard to read. There safe bets for kits, can't say i know the names,. but someone will let yu in on that.... but its safe to say your friends kit is off the charts.... i would definitely get a quality kit to make sure of it though. cheers

Thanks. I am hoping it is just the kit. I ordered a Salifert kit yesterday and am still waiting for it to get here. I have a carbonate test coming too.
