    GoldFlake Experiment Gone Bad!

Introduced a medium Goldflake into my reef tank. Knew the risk, but had read many places on line that said these often work out and don't eat the coral. She was picking at corals within 5 minutes

Any ideas on how I might ween her from corals? She takes shrimp and krill really well, but she's very hungry and I'm worried I might trash my water if I just keep feeding her.

    Any thoughts?

    Welcome to Reefland.

The only suggestion I have is enough food to keep her happy, including lots of grazing type foods. The problem is, as you have mentioned, si to have the filtration capacity to do that. I suppose one could keep up decent water changes for now, until she settles in on the food you give her.

The danger will always remain that she may go back to the corals some day, especially now that she has already ate some.

Thanks. My thought is to let her pick for now. She seems to be only eating the open brain corals so at least she has relatively cheap taste. If she starts picking at everything, I'm going to pull her out. Fingers are crossed.
