If its too hot......then get out of my tank!

I decided to go back after the aptasia today w/ what i like to call the "hot flash method" i only killed about two dozen but thats all i could hack for the day....i'm getting tired of this method really fast my worry is that its going to cause a spike in ammonia.....will it? any way i can do this w/out a spike? help an aptasia killer out

just taking scalding water and giving them a shot directly on them.....they shrivel right up.

A better method might be to mix a little kalk and water to the cosistency of toothpaste(zapping in the microwave for ~30seconds helps to mix it) then inject the paste into the anemone. I've never had one survive this.

I agree with ravenmore. I use some kents liquid calc. and inject it right into the stalk below the head and it dies within 1hr. Works every time and doses some calcium at the same time.

alrighty...im going on up to another not-so-local fish store tomorrow i'll see if they have any kalk. and give this method a shot....the majority of the ones i got w/ my method died but some made it.......

see if you can find pickling lime from the grocery store. Same stuff but a lot cheaper.

Ok call me stupid but, aptasia are pain in the neck rock anenomes right? Or am I way off? Because I had oneand know I have something like 17 and two of them are like 2'' in diam'.

yea rockanemones/aptasia.....either way they are a weed.....nip it in the bud now while you cant.......follow their advice like im gonna do and inject them w/ hot water/kalk
