new tank weight concerns.
I am planning an upgrade soon from my 55 to a 125 that is 72" long. My home which was built in 1957 is a dual level daylight basement situation. The new tank will replace the old tank which has been upstairs for the last 3 years with no problem. The area it will sit is along a inside wall between the fireplace and a back load bearing wall. the area from fireplace to back wall is probably only 8 feet long. The wall that it sits against has the exact floor plan downstairs including walls & fireplace. I know that to be sure I could just beef up the floor underneath, but the ceiling tile downstairs might have asbestos in it and it is best to not disturb these so.... any assurances, or suggestions would be appreciated. Mabey some home builders input???

Are you able to check to see if the floor joists run the same direction as the long side of the tank or do they run at right angles? If they run at right angles you should have no problem.
Regards, Kevin
