Reef Science

I finally got an appointment to meet with Chad and let me tell ya....this guy has the nicest most beautiful setup in his basement that I've ever seen. He's a nice guy and a true hobbiest but he's busy and 90 mph all the time. You can only meet with him by appointment. If you call or email he'll get back to ya fairly quick. I strongly encourage any of you if you're ever in the area to look him up and stop by cause it's worth it.

He's doing some good business, importing some nice rare sps's to include some corals found in pretty deep areas and he has great luck with wild colonies depending on the area they were collected and held at. He also deals in lps and softies but you can tell in an instant that he's an sps guy.

I purchased these pieces from him
A. millepora - green
A. millepora - blue
Turquoise Tip Staghorn
Montipora Digitata w/green polyps
Nice size rock of Green florida Ricordias atleast 20 polyps on it.
and a ball of chaeto macro algae

and he threw these in cause I'm military....gotta love that.
2 nice size frags of birds nest
and a bag full of phytoplankton that he cultures himself.

The bags are floating in my tank as I type and can't wait to mount them up. I'm arranging another meeting with him cause he has a MRC dual chamber reactor that he's holding for me and that three volume set of books on corals....although I can't remember the author for a very reasonable price. Chad if you browse around here thanks for everything and I'll definately be back.

What did you think of Chad's 302-gal (84"L x 32"W x 26"H) Starphire tank?

You know to tell you the truth I didn't notice if his main display inside his office was a starfire or not but dang it was great looking, it didn't look to be the dimensions you described.

It's Starphire on the front and both sides with perimeter bracing and a single Starphire cross brace (which he was hoping to avoid but Mitch insisted on it). It's 84"L x 32"W x 26"H. It's the July 2003 Tank of the Month: http://www.advancedaquarist.com/index/
