Cardinal carrying eggs?
I could be wrong, but I'm guessing that one of my cardinals is carrying a batch of eggs in his mouth. I managed to get a couple of pictures. Notice that the jaw of the first fish is distended. The second picture is of another one the cardinals and it has the normal profile.

Hey Doug
![]() Nice threadfin cardinals! I have seen the male Bangaii's carrying eggs in their mouth before. When you feed the tank does the suspected egg carrier eat? If not then I would expect he is carrying some eggs Definately keep us updated and it would be awesome if you could get a pic of the eggs with his mouth open Yeah I know....easier said than done right?

I noticed this shortly after I fed the fish, so I don't know if he ate. I will watch more carefully tonight. Cardinals are not too difficult to photograph because they hover a lot. I still don't have a really nice picture of my Lubbock's wrasse because he won't stay still for a microsecond.
