Every once in a while, usually as my Bubble coral is "shrinking" for the night, I see threads of reddish, almost bloody-looking mucous coming out of the central mouth region. Does anyone know what this is? I'm not missing any fish, and the coral is thriving.

It kinda sounds like it's pooping. That's exactly what my open brain does. HTH

Our pearl bubble does the same thing. Most of our LPS do, although not excessively. I'll agree with Joanne.

Mine does the same thing Mark. Maybe about once per week or two even less.
I think it's poop. ![]()
