Ok, who else got cool Valentines Day gifts for their reef? I did! I just posted a picture of a new T. maxima I got and here is a new purple M. Cap, along side of our other 3.

I didn't get anything reef related for Valentine, all I got is a bottle of 21yrs old scotch :eek3: so I treated myself with the help of an old friend and got three small colonies of Acropora, one Bali and two from Fiji.

I say we go there and fed the whole bottle to Gene (maybe a couple of small drinks for us :P ) and end up leaving with frags of the bali stuff

Wats that cap to the R. of the purple one? That one looks worthy of a good closeup isnt that like a brown w/purple polyps?

That is a frag of the purple colony that Gene has that turned brown very quickly after being introduced to our tank. I was starting to wonder if it was ever going to do anything but at last it has started to show some growth, although none of the original color has come back.

Rocky, that Bali is too small to frag as yet but that bottle is pretty much matured... so come on over and we'll frag the heck out of it. ;)

In regards to that purple cap that I sent you... everyone that ever got frag of it experienced the very same thing. Even green with the purple edge, people seem to not able to keep that intense purple on the edge once it leaves my tank. I have no clue as to why except the abvious like "it's different tank, water parameters". Well, it is true but in one case it went in the tank pretty much identical to mine and still the color went from purple to brown, than light brown/beige( I am talking about that purple cap).
