I'm also suprised I still have a tang! The Moray thinks the tang is more of a nuisance than a threat. I haven't seen any scars on the Moray from the tangs spikes.

Med man,
With the post above, I have seen alot of reef tanks with eels in them. However, I'm curious too. Has it ever tried to nip at you while rearranging or cleaning glass??? Plus what about when he gets big, wont he knock over rocks? Still is fun to watch I bet!!![]() |

The Zebra Moray is supposed to be mellow, but I can tell you I'd hate to see an agressive one! As soon as I put my hand in the water he will "hunt you down". When I'm feeding the corals my wife is on watch so I don't get bit. He'll sneak through the live rock and poke is head out as you can see by the second pic. He spars with the powerheads. It's kinda funny he sticks his face right in front of the powerhead just like a dog sticks it's head out of a moving car.
The only time he will move the lr is when I put a piece of krill on a feeding stick. He'll lunge at the krill and also bite down on the feeding stick and then I have one heck of a tug of war.

He's about 1' right now. I have been told it might double in size. I am thinking about exchanging it for some coral. Because he is messy, I have a concern over water quality. Plus he has jump out of the tank once. Luckily I was there when he did that, or else I'd have eel jerky
So if he doubles in size I will really have an issue. I purchased it from my lfs. They have several different sp.
