Wink Carpet Anemone

I bought one about two weeks ago. This moring I noticed a small snail in side of his tenicles Is this snail a meal or do I need to remove it. This anemone is a little weird. When I cut my lights on he closes up but when the lights are off he opens up wide like he is feeding. Ive had a clown take up to him some time and he opens even wider. Does anyone know what is going on here or is it normal. Thanks Worm

Good luck with your new carpet anemone in your 30-gal tank.

I took a picture of a couple of carpets at the Waikiki Aquarium. The larger one is over 30" across: http://www.reefland.com/forum/attach...tachmentid=250

Check this site if you want to figure out which of the three different species of carpets you have: http://biodiversity.uno.edu/ebooks/ch1.html#gigent

Hey Worm,

I've had 2 carpets and the didn't last long.I've kept them in a 55 w/clowns,the water perams were good (not perfect). They are hard enough to keep in a large tank much less in a 30 gal.If they die they may kill all the fish in the tank, been there done that.Had to remove my yellow tang to my 90 to save him/her.The clowns survived but lost a blue hippo and a fairy wrasse and the tank was down for about 2 days and several water/filter changes.
